Nothing Back by Jason Eaton

"...a short but powerful start to a career that seems to be divinely blessed... this is one you won’t want to miss"
A journey through
various life circumstances, doors opening, and divine revelations that
signify a blessing far beyond his ethereal tenor
range lead to Jason Eaton’s full time pursuit of faith-based singing/arranging/songwriting/worship
leading. Singing in churches lead Jason to get a degree in music education
from Olivet Nazarene University. From there he found himself a soloist with
Thurlow Spur Productions of Concert Ministries, International, playing the
lead role in “David, A Man after God’s Own Heart”. He also
appeared on “The 700 Club” with Pat Robertson. After handing
every aspect of his life over to God after an emotional alter call, he fostered
a passion towards a musical calling currently represented in the EP Nothing
Back.
The opening title track, “Nothing Back”, is a declaration of
complete surrender to God. A trifecta starts out the album for someone who
has turned every aspect of his life over to God. “All I got/ All I
am/ All my dreams/ All my plans/ I’m holding back/ I’m holding
nothing back from You”, a full power opening; the lyrics are well-built
upon, the tenor vocals are out-of-this-world, and the music is compassionate.
This is my favorite track on the album.
The next song relates to the divine intervention within Eaton’s career. “God
Thing” declares that we can’t always explain what is happening
around or to us. It feels like we have been swept away in a massive storm,
but all we do now is that it was a God thing.
"Free” speaks about salvation. How good God is and how free we
have been made through His love. We have been humbled and we have been granted
peace through His saving grace. The song brings the CD up a notch, and rocks
out about God, and our salvation; great topics to rock out to.
The next track was arranged by Eaton. “I Bowed” is a great praise
song to include in this CD. It speaks about a dream about going to Heaven,
and giving all praise and glory to God. Then we asked to see the Savior of
the whole world, Jesus, and we bowed before the Holy One.
We all search for truth throughout our lives, sometime we believe a lie,
and sometimes the truth is hard to swallow. “Holding Out Hope” is
a declaration that we need to hold out hope to those that are still searching
for truth in a world that will break them, and is consumed by fear. Who doesn’t
need hope to get through this life?
Nothing Back is a short but powerful start to a career that seems to be divinely
blessed. Though none of the songs were written by Jason Eaton, I can’t
wait to hear some that will be. The selection of songs for this CD was phenomenal.
Nothing Back is available at iTunes and your local store; this is one you
won’t want to miss.
