"...contains a delicious romance that is only enhanced by the west Texas setting, the small town camaraderie, and ranch atmosphere."

A battle weary ex-soldier hopes to find peace at home, in the arms of the only woman he’s ever loved, but will the remnants of war that haunt him chase her away?

Jenna Callahan Colby, a divorced woman with a young son, thought her chance for love was over. The man she married had no interest in her or their son, and now he’s out of her life for good. But when Nate Langley, a decorated soldier and the first guy to ever catch her eye, returns home, so does her hope for the future. Maybe it is possible to have a second chance at love.

Nate Langley is thankful to have survived his years overseas and to return home relatively unscathed. He’s especially glad that his first and only love, Jenna, seems happy that he’s back. When he lands a job on the ranch Jenna’s father owns, he doesn’t think things could get much better. He’ll see her daily and hopes to show Jenna that his love for her has never dimmed.

But the nightmares that have plagued him for months worsen and threaten his ability to do his job. Random things seem to send him into a stupor or cause weird reactions, but a sudden outburst against Jenna’s brother makes Nate realize that he could be a danger to Jenna and her son. Has he allowed his love for her to take wing, only to see it shot down? Is he too damaged for Jenna to love?

Jenna's Cowboy is a poignant and timely story about an ex-soldier with PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Nate returns to Texas, hoping to put the worries and fears of war behind him, only to discover the horrors have followed him home. He denies them until they threaten his blossoming relationship with Jenna. No doubt, readers’ hearts will ache as they endure the suffering with Nate and Jenna.

I found parts of this book moved a little slow for me, but the message is definitely heart-tugging. Our soldiers sacrifice so much to defend our country, both on the field of battle and at home, we have no idea to how much mental and emotion stress they face. This store gives readers a candid glance into the life of one returning soldier. Jenna's Cowboy contains a delicious romance that is only enhanced by the west Texas setting, the small town camaraderie, and ranch atmosphere. Jenna's Cowboy is sure to yank at your hearts strings.
