The Scarlet Trefoil by L.A. Kelly
"Robin expertly weaves the battle between judgment and grace into this unforgettable novel."
Ex-mercenary, Tahn Dorn, can’t believe that on the morrow he will marry the lady that has captured his heart. One more night, and he and Netta Trilett will be man and wife. So why can’t he shake the ominous feeling that something dreadful is about to happen?
When Netta fails to return from a neighboring estate where her bridal celebration was held, Tahn fears the worse. An unusual messenger orders him to come alone or the lady will die. Tahn would willingly give his life to save Netta. But who would dare kidnap the sweet, gracious daughter of a powerful nobleman?
Netta is certain the vile men who took her are only using her as a pawn to get at Tahn. Are they the bandits Tahn forsook years ago, or men hired by Baron Lionell Trent, Tahn’s cousin, who will stop at nothing to make sure Tahn’s heritage is never revealed? Will Netta and Tahn ever know happiness in each other’s arms? Or will they be forever separated by evil men?
The Scarlet Trefoil is the third book in the exciting Tahn Dorn saga by L.A. Kelly. Each book stands alone, but readers will better enjoy them if read in order.
You can’t help but love Tahn Dorn, a troubled, but honorable hero who puts everyone before himself. After a horrible childhood that most wouldn’t have survived, he has at last found peace in the arms of God and Lady Netta Trillet, and yet he still struggles with being worthy of the love of both of them.
Netta is a sweet, gracious woman who relies on God in every situation she encounters. Though The Scarlet Trefoil is really Tahn’s story, readers still get a good taste of Netta’s strength and character.
Vile bandits and an evil antagonist add riveting tension that keeps the plot moving at a quick pace. Readers will be exposed to the supernatural power of God during Tahn’s most difficult time, and will see that God is there for the ordinary man.
Author Leisha Kelly is probably better known for her women’s fiction series, but she does a superb job of bringing to life ancient times with wealthy noblemen, a dashing above-reproach hero, beautiful ladies, heinous villains, and God’s redeeming power.
