Fireflight
June 28, 2007
Creation East Festival
Mt. Union, Pennsylvania
by Tracy & C.J. DarlingtonTaking the stage after Family Force 5, the band members of Fireflight (Dawn, Wendy, Phee, Justin & Glenn) rocked the house with numbers from their debut album The Healing of Harms. Dawn sang with everything she had, and it showed. She kept us moving and involved. Of course, the other band members weren't to be outdone and rocked the house themselves.
The song set included almost all the cuts off The Healing of Harms---"Serenity", "It's You", "Attitude", "Action". The highlight for the crowd would have to be when Josh Brown of Day of Fire joined Dawn on stage to sing "You Decide" (Day of Fire was to perform after Fireflight). "Liar" also kept us on our toes with Justin Cox singing/screaming Kids in the Way lead singer David Paul Pelsue's part (alas, David didn't make an appearance).
A few songs in, Dawn shared from her heart and the Scriptures, which only confirmed that the band's heart isn't only about great rock 'n roll music. As Dawn stated in an interview with TitleTrakk.com, "It [faith] plays a huge part [in the band]. Our goal is to write and play music that helps people to learn about and feel God’s Love."
We felt it, Dawn.
